Most residential and commercial fabric softeners do a good job of providing a soft-hand feel or fluffiness, but they also have the negative side effect of imparting hydrophobic properties to the goods they are used on. This makes towels less efficient, increases drying times and ruins the properties of high-wicking performance wear. Goulston developed a hydrophilic fabric softener to address these issues.
Goulston is a leader in modifying the surface of synthetic fibers. Historically, we focused on the application of specifically formulated neat oils or emulsions for the fiber surface. Capitalizing on this expertise, Goulston began developing polymer additives that are injected into the fiber melt to impart highly durable fiber surface modifications and improved melt strength.
More information on Goulston's specialty chemicals is being formulated and coming soon.
In cooperation with our parent company, Takemoto, Goulston offers a variety of high-purity, custom surfactants and esters for use in a number of sensitive processes including plate chemistries, photo chemistries, semiconductors and flat panel display manufacture.
